Services
Six services, one contact. Every project starts with the feasibility check – so you know whether and how it works before you get a quote.
Where every project starts
Feasibility check
- Problem
- You have an idea for a device or system but don't know whether it works technically and economically – or what it would cost.
- You get
- Clarify requirements, sketch the architecture, estimate risks and cost. You get a written report you can decide on – including going ahead without Beanbox.
- Typical duration
- 1–2 weeks
- Evidence
- Physics and systems background, honest assessment: if it is not feasible, the report says so.
- Pricing
- Fixed fee, agreed upfront
Embedded & IoT development
- Problem
- You need a connected device but have no electronics or firmware department.
- You get
- Schematic and PCB, firmware for nRF52840, ESP32 and Ambiq Apollo, BLE, BLE Mesh, NB-IoT, low-power design and solar charging. Mechanical prototypes included (CNC, 3D printing).
- Evidence
- Animal tracker, irrigation controller, hardware password key · see project
- Pricing
- Fixed price per milestone
Sensing & signal processing
- Problem
- Your sensors deliver raw data, but no reliable result – or the battery is empty after a few days.
- You get
- Motion detection, step counting by autocorrelation, GPS power-saving logic, sensor calibration.
- Evidence
- Animal tracker (26 Hz, 4 s window), US patent on sensor calibration · see project
- Pricing
- Fixed price or time and materials
Backend, web & portal
- Problem
- The device transmits, but the service behind it is missing: receive, store, display, notify.
- You get
- Device service, push notifications, web portal, voice server (Asterisk), operated on your servers or mine, e.g. at Hetzner.
- Evidence
- Animal tracker portal, voice server project · see project
- Pricing
- Fixed price per milestone
AI integration & edge AI
- Problem
- You don't know whether on-device AI, sensor analytics or an LLM integration is feasible and worthwhile for your product.
- You get
- AI on the device, LLM agents and automation for SMEs, GPU simulation. With a clear statement where AI does not help.
- Evidence
- Industry work in an AI innovation team, own research lab, US patent on gesture recognition · see project
- Pricing
- Fixed fee or time and materials
Code takeover & rescue
- Problem
- Your device is in the field, but the battery doesn't last, the radio drops out – and the original developer is gone.
- You get
- Take over existing firmware, document and stabilise it. If you want, a structured handover to your internal team.
- Evidence
- Animal tracker: version 1 taken over from the previous developer, version 2 rewritten, handed over to the client's team · see project
- Pricing
- Fixed-price package
What applies everywhere
- One contact instead of handovers between a hardware and a software company.
- An honest feasibility statement before the quote. If it can’t be done, the feasibility check says so.
- Fixed prices per milestone, no open-ended hour budgets.
- Mechanical prototypes included: CNC milling, 3D printing, metal parts through partners, welding.
- Source code and rights are handed over cleanly at the end of the project.
